About Wright Elder Law

Wright Elder Law is the solo law practice of Attorney Benjamin S. Wright. I help Wisconsin families care for their elderly or disabled loved ones, primarily by preparing good estate plans and planning for long-term care Medicaid. I help overwhelmed families navigate a complex system successfully and on their own terms. I am looking for someone to help me in that mission.

About the Position

I am looking for an Administrative Assistant to take over office tasks so I can focus on legal work. This person will be primarily responsible for answering the phone, scheduling meetings, managing documents (scanning, filing, printing, mailing), and data entry. This person will also help me publish legal decisions on my website. This flexible part-time position will involve regular contact with clients and the chance to make a difference in their lives. The right person will be friendly and compassionate while efficiently completing tasks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Answering the main phone line
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Scanning and filing documents
  • Entering data in a client management system
  • Mailing & faxing
  • Preparing forms and correspondence
  • Completing new client intake
  • Preparing legal decisions for publishing on a WordPress site

Qualifications

  • Attention to detail
  • Friendly and helpful, in person and on the phone
  • Ability to work independently in a calm, quiet office
  • Required skills: typing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat
  • Preferred skills: Microsoft Excel, Notion, WordPress, proofreading, editing
  • Comfortable using online software to manage information, maintain a database (client management systems, Notion)
  • Personal or professional experience with disability, long-term care, Medicaid, or financial advising preferred, but not required
  • Client service experience in an office setting preferred, but not required
  • Proofreading or editing experience is a big plus
  • Web publishing (WordPress) experience is a big plus

Hours & Compensation

  • Part-time, 10-20 hours per week during standard business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
  • Hourly compensation: $25.00
  • Working hours are flexible and can be fit within your existing schedule, but most work must be done during regular business hours at my office in New Richmond (1200 Heritage Drive, near the Heritage Center and Northwood Technical College)
  • Some work may be done remotely after training
  • This position has the potential to become full-time or add paralegal-level work as my practice grows, if desired
